*Vinyl can generally be removed, but is not normally reusable. Magnetic graphics can usually be fitted in minutes on suitable clean, dry, flat steel panels. Simple vinyl decals may also take minutes, while larger graphics and wraps can require hours or days. Fitting times vary with design and vehicle.
For many businesses, time off the road means lost work. AutoMagnet's removable magnetic panels can be fitted without a professional installation appointment, helping you get your branding on the van and get back to business.
AutoMagnet graphics are designed for suitable steel body panels, precision-cut to follow your van's recessed areas. Magnetic graphics are not suitable for aluminium or plastic panels, and require correct fitting, cleaning and maintenance. For full vehicle coverage or complex curves, vinyl may be the better option. Always follow the supplied fitting and care guidance.
From a small vinyl logo to a fully designed vehicle wrap, van branding prices vary considerably. Here's how the main options compare.

A small vinyl sticker can be an inexpensive way to add a phone number or logo. AutoMagnet is a different kind of product: full-colour magnetic graphics made to fit suitable recessed steel panels on your particular van.
Unlike adhesive graphics, they can be removed and reused, with no professional fitting appointment required. More complex vinyl wraps can also involve design fees, specialist fitting and time off the road. See our van wraps guide for a closer comparison.
What are van graphics made from, how do they attach, and how do you look after them? Here's a practical guide to magnetic sheeting, adhesive vinyl and fitting your van graphics correctly.
01 / MAGNETIC SHEETINGFlexible magnetic sheeting holds to compatible steel bodywork through magnetic attraction, rather than glue. AutoMagnet graphics are cut to fit designated recessed panels on specific van models. The entire backing must lie flat against clean, dry painted steel.
Material detail: Designed around 0.85 mm flexible magnetic sheeting (final product specification to be confirmed). Thickness alone does not determine holding strength.
02 / ADHESIVE FILMAdhesive-backed vinyl is applied directly to prepared bodywork. Cut vinyl suits lettering and simple shapes; printed vinyl carries full-colour artwork, often with a protective laminate. Cast films are generally better suited to complex contours, while suitable calendered films work well on flatter areas.
For more extensive coverage, see our van wraps guide.
Different materials require different preparation and application techniques.
Practical answers about compatibility, paintwork, durability and everyday use.
Only apply magnetic graphics to compatible, sound, fully cured painted steel that is clean, dry, smooth and flat, entirely within the designated vehicle panel recess, with full magnetic contact. Always follow the final product's fitting, speed, cleaning and removal instructions. If in doubt about panel material or fit, check before use.

Prices depend on the material, design and amount of coverage. Small vinyl lettering can start at around £30, while complex bespoke wraps including design and professional fitting can exceed £5,000. AutoMagnet's precision-fit magnetic van signs start from £230 in the UK, with the final price depending on your van and chosen options.

Both can advertise your business effectively. Vinyl is well suited to permanent lettering, complex contours and full wraps. AutoMagnet offers professionally designed, full-colour branding on removable magnetic panels cut for the designated recesses of compatible vans. The best choice depends on the coverage you want and whether you need to remove the branding.

Often, yes. Removable magnetic graphics can be a practical option when you don't want permanent adhesive signage. However, check your lease or rental agreement first and make sure the vehicle has suitable, sound painted steel panels. Not every van panel is magnetic, and proper cleaning and maintenance are essential.
Yes. You can remove and refit AutoMagnet graphics when needed, provided the signs remain in good condition and the panel and magnetic backing are clean and dry before refitting. This flexibility is useful when you use the same van for business and personal journeys. Follow the supplied care and fitting guidance.
They certainly can. The difference is in the design and fit. AutoMagnet graphics are created for your business and precision-cut to sit within the intended body-panel recess rather than using a generic rectangle. The result is a clean, purposeful branded appearance without committing to permanent vinyl.
